Commissioning and the Design Process
Unless you are very lucky, you will usually need to commission stained glass in order to get a piece to fit your space.
How do you do this?
Firstly make contact and we will discuss:
Your budget The space available Your design input (ideas you may already have) Time scale
If you wish me to go ahead I will:
Produce a drawing / painting design or a series of these We may discuss design further and amend these ideas I will then produce a final design and we will meet to select exact glass samples It is not until at this point that I will give you a definate price for the work I will ask for a 25% deposit (this may vary depending on type / cost of glass) The commission will begin and you will be kept informed of progress I will arrange to have the work installed The final balance is payable
The 3 images on the left show the process from design through to completion. 1. An early design, amendments were made to also include a running dog. 2. The design under construction. 3. The finished piece (detail only).
